This elegant textural concrete feather design runs
for half a mile along the remodelled Central
promenade between Northumberland Street and
the Town Hall. Local artist and cobble stone
designer Maggie Howarth was commissioned to
produce designs for the promenade surface to
provide visual interest and a thematic link with
the other artworks. At night, the ovals within the feather pavement are the recipients of projected images from the Light Gallery. The Artist Maggie Howarth |
